Thermador appliance repair in Irvine and across Orange County, with same-day appointments seven days a week. We repair Thermador Pro Harmony and Pro Grand ranges and the Professional Series rangetops, Masterpiece and Professional wall ovens and steam ovens, Masterpiece and Freedom induction cooktops, Freedom built-in refrigerator columns, bottom-freezers and side-by-sides, and Sapphire and Emerald dishwashers. The service call is $79, it covers the trip and the diagnosis, and it is applied to the repair once you approve the written price for parts and labor.
Thermador is a BSH Home Appliances brand, in the same group as Bosch and Gaggenau. The dishwashers use the Bosch E15, E24 and E25 codes, and many controls and modules on the wall ovens, steam ovens and induction cooktops are shared across the group. The Pro ranges are a Thermador design built around the Star burner, with their own igniters, spark modules and oven relay boards.
Two things are different about a Thermador repair. Most of the parts come from local distributors rather than off the van, usually the next business day, and we tell you the lead time with the written price. And the alternative is expensive: a Pro range or a column refrigerator costs many times what a standard appliance does to replace, and the cabinetry is cut for it, so repair is almost always the right answer. See our write-up Thermador Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Not Working (September 2026) for one of these dispenser jobs.

Thermador appliances we repair
- Pro Harmony and Pro Grand ranges and Professional Series rangetops: gas and dual-fuel, with Star burners, griddles and grills. Igniters, spark modules, burner valves, oven sensors, elements, oven igniters and relay boards.
- Masterpiece and Professional wall ovens: single and double, convection and steam. Heating elements, convection fans, temperature sensors, door locks and hinges, control modules and steam system faults.
- Masterpiece and Freedom induction cooktops: zones that will not heat, a cooktop that will not turn on, pan-detection faults, cooling fans and generator boards.

Common Thermador problems and how we fix them
Thermador range burner clicking, not lighting, or lighting weakly
Likely causes: a wet or food-fouled igniter after a boil-over, a Star burner cap sitting off-center, a failed igniter or switch, a spark module, or a clogged orifice. The ExtraLow burners cycle on and off at the lowest settings by design; that is not a fault.
Try this first: dry the igniters, reseat every burner cap and try again. All the igniters click together while a burner lights; that is normal. Clicking that keeps going after the flame is lit is usually a fouled igniter, a flame-sense fault or a stuck switch; one burner that never sparks while the others do is its switch or wiring; no spark anywhere is the module.
How we fix it: we test the igniters and the spark module burner by burner, clear the orifice and replace the igniter, switch or module that failed. Burner parts are the quickest to get.
Thermador oven not heating, not holding temperature, or heating on one element only
Likely causes: on a dual-fuel range or a wall oven, a burned element, a failed temperature sensor, a relay board that no longer switches an element, or a convection fan; on an all-gas range, a weak oven igniter or a gas valve.
Try this first: set bake to 350°F with an oven thermometer inside. An oven that never warms is an element, an igniter or the relay board; one whose average over three or four cycles sits 25°F or more off the dial is usually the sensor; a swing above and below the setpoint during a cycle is normal.
How we fix it: we measure the element resistance and the sensor reading, test the relay board outputs under load and replace the failed part.
Thermador wall oven or steam oven showing an error or not making steam
Likely causes: on a steam oven, scale in the boiler or a water tank sensor; on any wall oven, a door lock stuck after self-clean, a cooling fan fault, a failed temperature sensor, or a control module fault shown as an E-code.
Try this first: run the descaling program on a steam oven and make sure the water tank is seated. For an E-code, write it down, switch the breaker off for five minutes and see whether it returns.
How we fix it: we read the stored codes, test the sensor, the lock, the fans and the steam system, and replace the part that failed.
Thermador Freedom refrigerator not cooling, or ice maker and dispenser not working
Likely causes: a failed evaporator or condenser fan, a defrost failure that iced the coil, a compressor or a refrigerant leak, a worn door gasket, or for ice, an inlet valve, a frozen fill tube or an ice maker module, and on a side-by-side with a through-door dispenser, a dispenser motor or switch.
Try this first: check that the gasket grips a sheet of paper all the way around, clear the condenser grille of dust, and give the ice maker 24 hours after a filter change. A warm column with the compressor running hot is a sealed-system call.
How we fix it: we read the fault memory, test the fans, the defrost circuit and the compressor, and check the sealed-system pressures when the cooling side points there; compressor and leak repairs are done in-house. Our write-up Thermador Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Not Working (September 2026) covers one of these dispenser jobs.
Thermador dishwasher showing E15, E24 or E25
Likely causes: E15 means water in the base pan has tripped the float, from a leaking hose, a sump seal or heavy foam; E24 means the dishwasher cannot drain, usually a filter, a hose or a disposal knockout plug; E25 means the drain pump is blocked or its cover is loose.
Try this first: for E24 and E25, switch the breaker off, then clean the filter, check the drain hose and the disposal plug, and clear the pump impeller under the sump cover. For E15, shut off the water supply under the sink and cut power; the float has found water in the base and the leak has to be located before the machine runs again.
How we fix it: we find the leak behind E15, or test and replace the drain pump behind E24 and E25. The codes are the Bosch codes, so our Bosch dishwasher error code guide applies to Thermador code for code.
Thermador Masterpiece or Freedom induction cooktop zone not heating, or the cooktop will not turn on
Likely causes: cookware the zone does not detect (aluminum, copper or a warped base), a failed generator board for that zone (on a Freedom cooktop, for that group of inductors), a cooling fan fault, a touch control that reads a key as stuck, or one leg of the 240-volt supply lost at the breaker or the junction box, which the cooktop usually reports as a supply-voltage code.
Try this first: try a pan a magnet sticks to, wipe the glass dry and switch the breaker off for five minutes. One dead zone is a generator or a coil; a dead cooktop is power, the control or the fan.
How we fix it: we test the generator boards, the coils, the fan and the control and replace the failed module.

What Thermador repair costs
The service call is $79. It covers the trip and the diagnosis and is applied to the repair when you approve the written price for parts and labor, which does not change. Thermador parts cost more than mass-market parts, and the written price tells you the whole number for parts and labor before work starts. The affordable end is an igniter, a spark module, a door gasket, a burner switch or a dishwasher drain pump; the middle an oven sensor, a convection fan, an ice maker, a circulation pump or a door lock; the expensive end a relay board, a control module, an induction generator and sealed-system work. Seniors and veterans get 20% off and repeat customers 15% off.
Repair or replace a Thermador appliance?
Repair, nearly every time. A Pro Harmony or Pro Grand range runs for decades on new igniters, modules, elements, sensors, valves and burner caps; the body and the grates rarely need replacing. A Freedom column is fitted into panels and cabinetry, so a replacement means a carpenter as well as an installer; even a compressor on a column is worth doing, and we do it in-house. A wall oven or an induction cooktop with one failed module is a repair.
The exception is a dishwasher past twelve or fifteen years that needs both a pump and a control module, where the total comes close to a new machine; we put the two numbers side by side and let you decide. Otherwise, if the part is still available, repair is the better investment.
Diagnosing a Thermador range, oven or refrigerator
Thermador’s codes are split across product lines rather than kept in one list. The dishwashers use the Bosch E-codes, the induction cooktops have their own E and F codes, the wall ovens and Freedom columns store E-codes that differ by series and year, and on the Pro ranges only the oven reports a fault: many all-gas models blink it out on the blue knob LEDs rather than on a display, the dual-fuel ovens show an E-number with a beep, and the surface burners have no codes at all. Tell us what you saw. A Thermador call is mostly a test, not a lookup. On a range we check the spark module and the igniter current burner by burner and reseat the Star burner caps. On an oven we compare the sensor against a thermometer and switch each relay board output under load. On a Freedom column we start with the fault memory and the fans and go to the sealed system only when the cooling side points there. The dishwasher codes are documented: E15 water in the base, E24 not draining, E25 drain pump blocked, covered code for code in our Bosch dishwasher error code guide. Our Bosch repair page covers the sister brand.
How a Thermador service call works
- Call or book. Call (949) 544-5550 or book online with the appliance, the symptom and any code. Same-day appointments across Orange County, seven days a week.
- Diagnose. The technician runs the appliance, reads any stored codes, tests the part the symptom points to and records the model number for the parts order. The $79 covers this and is applied to the repair.
- Written price. You get one price for parts and labor, with the lead time for any ordered part, before anything is replaced. It does not change.
- Repair. Parts that are not on the van come from local distributors, usually the next business day, and we fit them as soon as they arrive.
- Warranty. Parts and labor are under warranty, and if the same problem returns within 90 days the return visit carries no service-call fee.

Thermador appliance repair FAQ
How much does Thermador appliance repair cost in Orange County?
The service call is $79 and is applied to the repair. Igniters, spark modules, gaskets and dishwasher pumps are the affordable end; sensors, fans and ice makers the middle; boards, modules, induction generators and sealed-system work the expensive end. You approve a written price, with the parts lead time, before any work starts.
Do you repair Thermador Pro Harmony and Pro Grand ranges?
Yes. We repair igniters, spark modules, burner switches, oven sensors, elements and relay boards on the Pro ranges and the Professional rangetops, in all-gas and dual-fuel versions.
Can you come the same day for a Thermador?
Yes, the diagnosis is same day across Orange County, seven days a week. Whether the repair finishes that day depends on whether the part has to be ordered.
What warranty comes with a Thermador repair?
A warranty on parts and labor. If the same fault comes back within 90 days, the return visit has no service-call fee.
How long do Thermador parts take?
Most Thermador parts come from local distributors rather than off the van, usually the next business day. We give you the lead time with the written price.
What do E15, E24 and E25 mean on a Thermador dishwasher?
E15 means water has collected in the base pan and tripped the leak float; E24 means the dishwasher cannot drain; E25 means the drain pump is blocked or its cover is loose. Clean the filter and check the hose for E24 and E25; for E15, shut off the water supply and cut power, and call us to find the leak.
Is Thermador the same as Bosch?
Both are BSH Home Appliances brands, with Gaggenau. Thermador dishwashers use the same codes as Bosch and many parts are shared across the group; the Pro ranges are a Thermador design of their own. We repair Thermador and Bosch.
