Bosch Appliance Repair in Irvine and Orange County

Bosch dishwasher pulled out for an E25 drain pump repair in Orange County

Bosch appliance repair in Irvine and across Orange County, same day, Monday to Saturday. We repair Bosch dishwashers from the 100 series to Benchmark, the 24-inch washers and condensation and heat-pump dryers, counter-depth and built-in refrigerators, wall ovens, gas and induction cooktops and built-in microwaves. The service call is $79. It covers the trip and the diagnosis and is applied to the repair when you approve the written price for parts and labor, which does not change once we start.

Bosch builds differently from the mass-market brands. The dishwashers are quiet because the pumps and insulation are engineered differently, the ovens hold temperature closely because the sensors and controls are finer, and the washers and dryers are packed tightly into a 24-inch cabinet. Bosch belongs to the BSH group with Thermador and Gaggenau, so much of the engineering and some parts are shared; our Thermador page covers that side of the family.

The faults are familiar rather than a research project on your kitchen floor. On dishwashers it is the drain codes: E24 when the hose or filter is blocked, E25 when the drain pump is jammed, and E15 when the leak protection in the base has found water. The E25 drain pump repair in Newport Beach is the one we see most. On the compact washers it is the drain pump, the door interlock and, with age, the drum bearings; on the ovens the temperature sensor and the control board; on the refrigerators the defrost system. Common parts such as drain pumps and door interlocks are usually on the van; the rest come from local distributors, usually the next business day.

Bosch appliances we repair

  • Dishwashers: 100, 300, 500, 800 and Benchmark series, including panel-ready models. E15, E24 and E25 codes, heater and circulation pump assemblies, door seals, dispensers, water level sensors, control modules.
  • Compact washers: Axxis and the 300, 500 and 800 series. Drain pumps, door interlocks, motor control boards, drum bearings, doors that will not unlock.
  • Dryers: 24-inch condensation and heat-pump models. Long cycles, no heat, condenser and heat exchanger cleaning, condensate pumps, moisture sensors.
  • Refrigerators: counter-depth French-door and built-in models. Defrost heaters and thermostats, blocked drains, evaporator and condenser fans, ice maker inlet valves, sealed-system leaks.
  • Wall ovens and ranges: temperature sensors, control boards, door locks, bake and broil elements, convection fans.
  • Cooktops: gas igniters, spark modules and burner caps; induction coils, cooling fans and power boards.
  • Built-in microwaves and speed ovens: magnetrons, high-voltage diodes, door switches.

Common Bosch problems and how we fix them

Bosch dishwasher E24 or E25 with water left in the bottom

Likely causes: E24 is a blocked drain path: a kinked or sagging drain hose, a clogged filter, a disposal knockout plug, or a check valve stuck with debris. E25 is the drain pump itself: a shard of glass or a seed jamming the impeller, or a pump that has failed.

Try this first: switch the dishwasher off at the breaker, twist out the filter and clean it, unclip the pump cover in the sump and clear anything around the impeller, then check the drain hose for a kink and the disposal for its knockout plug.

How we fix it: we test the pump under power, clear the check valve and the hose, and replace the pump when it has failed, as in the Newport Beach E25 repair. Both codes are covered in our Bosch dishwasher error code guide.

Bosch dishwasher E15, stopped and will not run

Likely causes: water in the base pan has lifted the leak-protection float. It got there from a door seal, a loose hose clamp, a cracked sump or pump housing, or an overflow from too much detergent.

Try this first: switch off the breaker, leave the door open and let the base dry for a day. If the dishwasher then runs and E15 stays away for weeks, it was a one-time overflow. If it is back within days, there is a leak.

How we fix it: we pull the dishwasher, dry the pan, run it on the floor and find the drip, then replace the seal, clamp, hose or housing. We do not bypass the float; it exists to stop a flood.

Bosch dishwasher not cleaning or stopping mid-cycle

Likely causes: a circulation pump that has lost pressure, spray arms blocked with scale or a label, a dispenser that does not open, a heater that will not reach temperature so the cycle runs long, or a water level sensor reading wrong. Bosch relies on a precise water level, so a faulty sensor looks like several different problems at once.

Try this first: clean the spray arm holes and the filter, run a cycle with a citric-acid dishwasher cleaner, and turn the rinse aid up; condensation drying depends on it.

How we fix it: we check fill volume and water temperature, test the pump and the sensor and replace the failed part. On current Bosch models the heater and the circulation pump are one assembly, and that is the usual middle-tier repair.

Bosch washer not draining, not spinning or door locked

Likely causes: not draining is the drain pump or an obstruction in front of it; not spinning is the door interlock, the motor control board or worn drum bearings; a door that stays locked at the end of the cycle is normally the interlock rather than the control.

Try this first: open the pump filter at the bottom front with a towel and a tray under it, clear it and retry. Wait two minutes after a cycle before pulling on the door; the interlock releases on a delay.

How we fix it: we test the pump, the interlock and the board, and replace the failed one. These machines are tightly packed, so access takes longer than on a full-size washer.

Bosch dryer taking hours or not heating

Likely causes: on a condensation dryer, long cycles usually mean the condenser or the heat exchanger needs cleaning rather than a broken part; otherwise a failed heater or thermostat, a condensate pump that no longer empties the reservoir, or moisture sensor bars coated with softener residue.

Try this first: empty the water reservoir and clean both lint filters. On a condensation dryer pull the condenser out from behind the lower flap and rinse it; on a heat-pump model the heat exchanger is fixed, so clean the fluff filter in front of it instead. Then wipe the sensor bars inside the drum with vinegar.

How we fix it: we test the heater, the thermostats, the pump and the sensor, clean the heat exchanger and replace what failed. A fault in the heat-pump refrigeration circuit is a sealed-system repair, and we tell you at the diagnosis whether it is worth doing.

Bosch oven not reaching temperature or cooktop not lighting

Likely causes: on an electric oven the temperature sensor, an open bake element or the control board; on a gas cooktop the igniter, the spark module or a burner cap reassembled slightly out of position after cleaning; on an induction cooktop a failed coil or a cooling fan that stopped, so the unit shuts down mid-cook.

Try this first: reseat and dry the burner caps after cleaning; a wet or crooked cap clicks without end. For an oven that drifts, check it with an oven thermometer first; a swing of twenty degrees around the setpoint is normal.

How we fix it: we test the sensor and the board outputs, replace the igniter or spark module, or the induction coil or fan, and calibrate the oven.

What Bosch repair costs

A Bosch visit starts with the same $79 service call as every other brand: the trip and the diagnosis, applied to the repair when you approve it. The price for the part and the labor is written down before we start and does not change afterwards. Bosch parts cost more than the equivalent part on a mass-market machine, so the tiers sit a little higher. A cleared drain, a door seal, an igniter, a sensor or an interlock is the affordable end; a drain pump, the dishwasher heater and circulation pump assembly, a control module or a condensate pump is the middle; a motor control board, drum bearings or sealed-system work is the expensive end. If a repair is not worth doing, we say so and you pay the $79 only.

RepairTypical price, parts and labor
Refrigerator defrost system, fan motor or ice maker$220 to $450
Refrigerator compressor or refrigerant leak (sealed system)$600 to $1,800
Washer drain pump, door lock or suspension$180 to $400
Washer motor, inverter board or bearings$350 to $800
Dryer heating element, igniter, fuse or rollers$150 to $350
Dishwasher drain pump, valve or latch$170 to $350
Dishwasher wash pump or control board$300 to $600
Oven igniter, element or sensor$160 to $350
Oven or range control board$300 to $700

Typical Orange County ranges for parts and labor on common models; the service call is $79 and is applied to any of them. Built-in, professional and commercial units, and parts that have to come from the manufacturer, can run higher. You get the exact written price after the diagnosis and before any work starts.

Repair or replace a Bosch appliance?

Usually repair, and more often than with mass-market brands. Bosch builds with serviceable components and long-lasting tubs, cabinets and motors, and much of it is built into cabinetry, which makes replacement cost more than the appliance itself. A failed pump, sensor, interlock or control module on an otherwise sound Bosch machine is nearly always worth fixing, and a built-in refrigerator is worth sealed-system work far longer than a freestanding one. The exceptions are a compact washer with worn drum bearings, where on many models the bearings come only as a complete tub-and-drum assembly and the part plus the labor approaches the price of the machine, and any Bosch appliance whose control module is no longer available. We check availability during the visit and give you the price and the recommendation together.

Bosch error codes

Bosch dishwashers show their codes as E followed by two digits, and the three you will meet most are E15 (water in the base), E24 (drain path blocked) and E25 (drain pump). Our Bosch dishwasher error code guide lists the full set, what each means and what you can check before you call. Take a photo of the code before you power the appliance off; some codes do not come back after a restart, and the photo tells us which part to bring.

How a Bosch service call works

  1. Call. Call (949) 544-5550 or book online. Have the E-Nr from the label inside the door ready; parts differ between series.
  2. Diagnose. We run the machine, read the stored faults from the service menu and test the part the code points to. The $79 service call covers this.
  3. Written price. One price for the part and the labor, in writing, with the $79 credited.
  4. Repair. Common parts such as drain pumps, seals and interlocks are usually on the van; others come from local distributors, usually the next business day.
  5. Warranty. Parts and labor are under warranty, and a fault that returns within 90 days brings us back with no service-call fee.

Service area

We work out of Irvine and serve Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Tustin, Santa Ana, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach, Fullerton, Orange and San Clemente, and to every other city on our service areas page.

Bosch appliance repair FAQ

Is it worth repairing a Bosch appliance or should I replace it?

Usually repair. Bosch equipment is built with serviceable components, and much of it is built into cabinetry, which makes replacement cost more than the appliance itself. A failed pump, sensor or module on a sound Bosch machine is nearly always worth fixing.

How much does a Bosch appliance repair cost?

The service call is $79 and is applied to the repair. Seals, igniters, sensors and interlocks are the affordable end; drain pumps, the heater and circulation pump assembly and control modules are the middle; motor boards, bearings and sealed-system work are the expensive end. You get the price in writing before any work starts.

What do E15, E24 and E25 mean on a Bosch dishwasher?

E15 means the leak protection in the base has found water. E24 means the drain path is blocked: hose, filter or disposal plug. E25 means the drain pump is jammed or has failed. Clean the filter and check the hose for E24 and E25, dry the base for E15; a code that returns needs a technician.

Why does my Bosch dishwasher not dry the dishes?

Most Bosch dishwashers dry by condensation and depend on rinse aid and a hot final rinse. Fill the rinse aid and turn the dose up before anything else. If dishes come out cold and wet, the heater pump or its temperature sensor needs testing.

Do you repair Bosch 24-inch washers and dryers?

Yes, including the Axxis line, the 300, 500 and 800 series, and both condensation and heat-pump dryers. Drain pumps, interlocks, motor boards, condensate pumps and heat exchangers are routine; a heat-pump refrigeration fault is a sealed-system repair, and we tell you at the diagnosis whether it is worth doing.

Can you come the same day?

Usually. We schedule Bosch repairs the same day across Orange County when a slot is open, Monday to Saturday, otherwise the next day.

What warranty do you give on a Bosch repair?

Parts and labor are under warranty. If the same fault returns within 90 days, the return visit has no service-call fee.

Do you repair Thermador as well?

Yes. Thermador belongs to the same BSH group as Bosch and shares much of its engineering, so the diagnostic approach is similar. Thermador has its own page.
